How the AK Series Works
Every AK generator uses Sequential Temperature Control — full power to reach the preset temperature, then power reduced by 1/3 or 2/3 of the heating elements to maintain it. The result is a consistent, softer steam flow without the on/off cycling of single-speed systems. Your clients will notice the difference in steam quality. The stainless steel tank and water level probes are built for long-term reliability, and the removable heating elements make service straightforward — a practical design choice that reduces callback costs over the life of the install.
All AK generators are ETL listed for USA and Canada and tested to IEC standards. Available in 240V and 208V, field-wireable for single or three-phase.
AK Series Sizing & Electrical Spec Chart
For natural stone walls (marble, granite, slate, travertine), multiply base cubic footage by 1.75 before selecting a model. Maximum recommended ceiling height is 8 ft — higher ceilings increase the effective cubic footage. Contact us for sizing help on non-standard enclosures.

Ganging for Larger Rooms
For rooms over 550 cu ft, gang two or three AK units. Only the primary generator needs a control and temperature sensor. Secondary units mirror the primary — operation is no more complex than a single-generator system. Each generator in a ganged setup requires its own auto drain valve, drip pan, and at least one ComfortFlo steamhead.

Control Options
All AK generators are compatible with the full Amerec control lineup. One control handles any ganged configuration; additional controls can be added.
- K2 — Wi-Fi touchscreen, Google Home and Alexa via SaunaLogic app, 24-hr delay timer, light control, 6 finishes. Specify when the client wants smart home integration.
- K3 — 3-button digital, mounts inside or outside, waterproof. No app connectivity. Reliable, straightforward.
- KT3 — Same as K3 with built-in sensor; inside-mount only.
- K4 — Basic on/off with 30-minute timer. Most economical option.
Google Home note: The Amerec K2 is the only residential steam control that supports both Google Home and Amazon Alexa. Mr. Steam's iSteamX supports Alexa only. Spec the K2 when a client has a Google Home system.

Glacier Package (K2) — K2 control, ComfortFlo SteamHead, ADK Auto Drain, ADP Drip Pan. 6 finishes.
Columbia Package (K3) — K3 control, ComfortFlo SteamHead, ADK Auto Drain, ADP Drip Pan. 6 finishes.
Both packages include the ADK Auto Drain — always spec this on AK jobs. It is far easier to plumb at rough-in than after tile is up, and it significantly reduces scale-related callbacks.
Which AK Model for Which Job
AK4.5 — compact tile enclosures 60–90 cu ft.
AK6 — standard residential tile enclosures 80–150 cu ft. Most common spec.
AK7.5 — tile enclosures 100–200 cu ft, or natural stone enclosures up to ~115 cu ft base volume.
AK9 — tile enclosures 150–300 cu ft. Go-to for generous master bath steam showers in tile.
AK11 — tile 200–400 cu ft or large stone enclosures. Luxury master baths with high ceilings or premium materials.
AK14 — tile 350–550 cu ft. Requires two ComfortFlo steamheads. For rooms above 550 cu ft, gang two or more units per the table above.
