The ThermaSol DSV-4000 Digital Shower Valve is a concealed thermostatic 4-port valve that replaces exposed valve trim in luxury shower installations. Instead of running individual thermostatic or pressure-balancing valves for each fixture — each with its own trim, handle, and wall penetration — the DSV-4000 consolidates control of up to four shower outlets into a single valve managed entirely through a ThermaTouch2 or SignaTouch digital control. This guide covers every spec, installation requirement, and compatibility consideration you need before you spec or rough in the DSV-4000.

What the DSV-4000 does
The DSV-4000 is a concealed thermostatic 4-port shower valve — installed in an accessible location outside the shower enclosure and connected to up to four shower fixtures via 1/2" NPT outlets. All user interaction — outlet selection, temperature, flow — happens through the ThermaTouch2 or SignaTouch control mounted inside the shower. No trim. No valve handles. No exposed escutcheons on the shower wall.
For installations requiring more than four outlets, two DSV-4000 valves can be paired in tandem to a single control for up to eight total connections — covering the full fixture count of a large custom master bathroom shower or commercial wellness space.

Installation requirements
Read this before rough-in. The DSV-4000 valve location must remain permanently accessible for long-term maintenance and service. Do not install in an enclosed wall cavity or space that would require demolition to access. Plan the access panel or service cabinet location during rough-in — not after tile is set.
Valve location — accessible, within 10 feet of shower. Install in a service cabinet or access panel. Must remain accessible permanently. Install no more than 10 feet from the shower for optimal performance — longer runs reduce temperature responsiveness at the outlets.
Supply lines — 3/4" from source. Hot and cold inlets are 3/4" NPT. ThermaSol specifies running 3/4" supply lines from the source for best results. Reducing to 1/2" at supply will limit maximum flow performance when multiple outlets are active simultaneously.
Electrical rough-in — 110VAC at valve location. The DSV-4000 requires 110VAC at the valve. Plan the electrical rough-in before closing the access panel location — retrofitting power after the cabinet is built is significantly more difficult.
Pressure — 40 to 60 PSI recommended, 80 PSI maximum. If supply pressure at the installation location exceeds 80 PSI, a pressure reducing valve is required upstream of the DSV-4000. Confirm supply pressure before rough-in.
Flow regulators — plan at rough-in. Flow is controlled with inline flow regulators at each outlet. Plan flow regulator locations during rough-in — retrofitting after tile is complete adds significant cost and difficulty.
Control pairing — required before commissioning. The DSV-4000 does not function without a paired ThermaTouch2 or SignaTouch control. The control must be installed, powered, and paired to the valve before any outlet can be activated. Refer to ThermaSol installation instructions Doc No. 81306-1 for the complete pairing procedure.
Compatible controls
ThermaTouch2 — ThermaSol's flagship smart control. Available in 7" and 15" touchscreen sizes. Android-powered interface with Bluetooth audio, Alexa activation, streaming apps, Tranquility Scenes, and customizable user profiles. Manages steam, water, lighting, and sound from a single waterproof panel. When paired with the DSV-4000, the ThermaTouch2 controls each outlet independently with precise temperature and flow management. Required for tandem valve configurations with two DSV-4000 valves.
SignaTouch — ThermaSol's streamlined digital shower control for pure digital shower applications where steam integration and entertainment features are not required. The SignaTouch provides complete DSV-4000 outlet control without the ThermaTouch2 feature set.
Tandem valve configuration — up to eight outlets
For installations requiring more than four shower outlets, two DSV-4000 valves can be paired in tandem to a single ThermaTouch2 or SignaTouch control. Each valve handles four outlets independently — the control manages all eight from a single interface. Plan tandem valve locations and power during rough-in. Both valves must be within 10 feet of the shower and both must have dedicated 110VAC connections.
Frequently asked questions
Does the DSV-4000 replace individual thermostatic valves?
Yes — the DSV-4000 is designed to replace individual thermostatic or pressure-balancing valves for each fixture. One DSV-4000 handles up to four fixtures from a single concealed valve, eliminating the need for individual valve trims on the shower wall.
Can all four outlets run simultaneously?
Multiple outlets may be activated simultaneously where local codes and plumbing conditions allow. The DSV-4000 is rated for up to 10.5 GPM total at 55 PSI. Confirm available supply pressure and flow can support combined fixture demand before activating multiple outlets simultaneously. Refer to local code requirements.
What code approvals does the DSV-4000 carry?
IAPMO approved. Meets ASME A112.18.1, CSA B125.1, CSA B125.16, and ASSE 1016. Type T device for use with a showerhead rated at 1.0 GPM or greater. Refer to ThermaSol installation instructions Doc No. 81306-1 for complete installation requirements and code compliance documentation.
Does the DSV-4000 work with ThermaSol steam generators?
The DSV-4000 controls water outlets — not the steam generator directly. When combined with a ThermaSol PRO Series III generator and ThermaTouch2 control, the ThermaTouch2 manages both water outlets and steam from a single interface.
