What makes the K2 different from other steam controls
Google Home support. This is the K2's clearest differentiator. Mr. Steam and ThermaSol both support Amazon Alexa only. The Amerec K2 supports Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Siri — making it the only residential steam control that works natively in a Google smart home ecosystem. On jobs where the client has a Google-based smart home, the K2 is the only spec that integrates without a workaround.
Waterproof — mounts inside or outside. The K2 is fully waterproof and can be installed either inside the steam enclosure or on the exterior bathroom wall. This gives you flexibility during rough-in that other controls do not — if the client changes their mind about control placement after tile is up, the K2 can go either side of the door without a different product.
24-hour scheduling. The K2 supports session scheduling up to 24 hours in advance from the control or the SaunaLogic app. For clients who use their steam shower on a daily schedule, this is a meaningful quality-of-life feature.
Family app access. The SaunaLogic app Administrator can add unlimited family members — every member of the household gets their own app access without sharing credentials. This is a cleaner multi-user experience than some competing systems.
Installation notes
Generator compatibility. The K2 is for use with Amerec AK Series generators only — it is not compatible with other brands or older Amerec models outside the AK Series. Can I install the K2 on a non-Amerec generator?
No — the K2 is compatible with Amerec AK Series generators only. Steam controls and generators must match brands. If the client has an existing non-Amerec generator, a K2 cannot be retrofitted to it.
